Security threats during the third quarter

According to the latest State of the company’s Web Zscaler Threatlabz​​, browser add-ons for Internet, social networks and HTML iFrame-s were the biggest threats to security during the third quarter of the year.

Internet Explorer remains the dominant Web browser, while the majority of users still using older versions of browsers. Indeed, only 1.68% of users are in the 9.x version of Internet Explorer, while all others use older versions that have far more security vulnerabilities, in particular version 6.x which is still used 4.21% of users.

Threatlabz ​​also notes that Adobe Shockwave is add the browser that is maintained at the earliest, and it follows from Java and Adobe Reader. All these additions have serious security vulnerabilities, especially in their old versions. Malicious iFrame HTML-s are the most frequent form detected by antivirus software, and followed by ridrejtimet through JavaScript and discoveries of fake malicious content.
